Voxman, a regular reader and commenter on this site, just posted a comment in which he claims to have a source that confirmed the restrictions, on US military and SOFA personnel in Okinawa, will be lifted Tuesday morning, 04 March. From the comment:

I cannot reveal my source, but the lockdown will be over in the morning. They will be implementing a phased reduction in restrictions on Okinawa for mil. And a full recovery from restriction on CIV and Dependents.
While part of me wants to see the restrictions end, part of me wants them to keep going, as local businesses are starting to turn to shit without their US military customers. I think it’s nice to see all the people who wish the US military would leave really starting to feel the crunch. I’m a little skeptical as to whether or not the restrictions will be lifted, as an Airman was arrested Sunday for trespassing after allegedly breaking into an office building. I’m starting to question whether or not it’s just been a bunch of coincidental misunderstanding or if everyone on Okinawa is just completely fucked up?
