Okinawa Restrictions Loosened Up.

It’s official, the “period of reflection” is over. Thanks Vox, you helped me have the story before S& S ;-)

Military members in Okinawa still some have restrictions, but they aren’t too bad. All restrictions for civilians have been completely lifted, while a curfew of 10PM to 5AM has been imposed on the US military. Additionally, no drinking is allowed by services members in off-base establishments at all, but boozing it up at their houses is fine. I especially love that stipulation, since there’s no way there are enough civilians to keep the local bars and clubs open. Read the full article at Stars & Stripes.

I knew everyone was stressing over this, so putting the info out ASAP to me caused no ethical conflicts considering what they were doing was both legally and ethically wrong and from my side of the fence, we could see the tide was turning against the mil leadership down in Oki. Meaning, enitrely too many Senators and Housemembers were getting hit with phone calls and overnighted mail concerning the civil liberties issue. Smart move on Zilmer’s part by squashing his on creation before the Congress started calling Gens and Adm into committee meetings in Wash. to justify the incarceration.

Special Note: if you like having a Senator look after your rights, take the time to participate in elections back home. This issue is a perfect example. By doing so, you keep these despots in line and on target doing what their job really is, preparing for war.
