Screw all the protests. Screw all the blog and forum posts stereotyping US service members in Japan as monsters. Screw every senior US leader who got on their knees to kiss the asses of the Japanese people. And a very special screw you to the Japanese media and public who completely overlooked the daily occurrences of heinous crimes by their own, in order to show the US military in a bad light.
Tyrone Hadnott, the Okinawa Marine falsely accused of rape, is now free! The family of the girl decided not to press charges, because it was all bullshit to begin with. Hadnott is now said to be in military custody, so let’s if all the bullshit will go away so he can start putting the pieces of his life back together, or if the senior US leaders out here will go that extra mile to screw him over some more. I’d like to say that things will be looking up for this falsely accused Marine, but honestly his life is already over. Everyone was so quick to judge this guy, that he will always be labeled guilty in the public eye. I’m sure some heads are going to roll in the Okinawa law enforcement, as the vocal anti-US groups want to know why he was set free, instead of drawn and quartered.
Congratulations, Marine. To all of you who didn’t give this guy the benefit of a doubt, or didn’t see the obvious bullshit involved, you’re all assholes.

Here’s a thought…lets find out why some Marines cannot behave themselves, as they keep repeating the same history over and over. What is it about some Marines in Japan, and violating women?
You did make a valid point though…for those who are charged with sexual misconduct; even if they are acquitted, things are never the same, and they are biased upon as if they actually commited the crime. I beleive that Marines’ next few months will be a wreck for that guy.
Posted 29 Feb 2008 at 9:33 am ¶I think you might want to look at why any man violates women. As I’ve states again and again in my posts, the Japanese men do this stuff here on a daily basis. The US military seems to get the spotlight whenever one of its people commits a crime, but I think if someone were to look at the total numbers of all crimes, it would be lower than even the US average.
Posted 29 Feb 2008 at 9:50 am ¶I am angry about the way the Japanese blew this up, and angry that only now, after all the apologizing, have the charges been quietly dropped, but I still have to say any 38-year-old guy out with a 14-year-old girl should re-think some of his choices.
Posted 29 Feb 2008 at 8:56 pm ¶isn’t it all possible that he might not have known here age. Some of these girls out here you really look older than they are. I’m just saying there is still more to this than there might look.
Posted 29 Feb 2008 at 10:44 pm ¶Does this mean that the “lock-down” is over?
I would hate to think that the once mighty United States Marine Corps would relax discipline simply because of a 14 year old girl’s change of mind…
Furthermore, do you think that she would have dropped charges against that pervert if the base was not put on “lock-down”?
I don’t think so…
It’s another example of the unintended consequences of mass punishment.
Posted 01 Mar 2008 at 3:17 am ¶“Ashamed of the Navy” should be ashamed of him/herself! What a asshat! Got more examples of “unintended consequences of mass punishment” This doesnt even make a lick of sense…..you, sir or ma’am, are an idiot.

OK:
It reduces the morale of our troops, thereby hindering our war-fighting capacity.
The public nature of this particular instance demonstrates the weakness of our resolve to our enemies, and sends a clear message that we can be manipulated. (However, I do not condone this Marine’s actions. He his clearly sick, and not representative of the USMC that is on the island to protect Japan.)
This lock-down has had a negative impact on the local economy.
Family members have been brought into the equation, and that can’t help but hurt retention when a re-enlistment decision is to be made.
Does that make a “lick of sense” to you, Gargoyle?
If you believe that mass punishment is good leadership, then perhaps you are the “asshat”.
Posted 01 Mar 2008 at 11:33 pm ¶I cannot reveal my source, but the lockdown will be over in the morning. They will be implementing a phased reduction in restrictions on Okinawa for mil. And a full recovery from restriction on CIV and Dependents.

Thanks! Ashamed of the Navy. it was a good point
Posted 03 Mar 2008 at 6:03 am ¶For someone who is Ashamed of the Navy, you sure do care alot about what happens in and around the Navy…
Posted 13 Mar 2008 at 4:47 pm ¶So pretty much this whole stand down was due to an accusation!?!
Posted 15 Mar 2008 at 1:20 am ¶If someone causes a train to be delayed in Japan they are liable.
How many millions of dollars did it cost the Navy and Marines to stand down for the day?
Lets charge her…
The Marine is 38! The female is 14! He admitted to taking her to his home. He admitted to holding the girl down and trying to kiss her in his car. Not sure of his intent, but either way, it is morally wrong.
Posted 21 Mar 2008 at 6:20 am ¶How would you feel if a 38 year old person initiated this type of contact with your 14 year old child.
By the way, I understand some 14 year olds “look” older than their age, but after a few minutes of talking or really looking, you can easily tell their approximate age, IF you want to. Just my thoughts.
look if your in a foreign country and don’t know their language then how the hell will you start a conversation with them. Also, if the girl is 14 yrs old then shes old enough to know not to talk to strangers and enter their cars for a “chat”. And the marine is surounded by men 9 hours a day, so can you blame him for mistaking a girl for her age?!! jesus if you haven’t seen a women for a year or two and your horny then i doubt the first thing your gonna ask a girl is for her age in a foreign language. damn just say the marine was fucking stupid then thats that
